What Ships developer resources

Machine-readable access to the What Ships launch-video catalog. No authentication, webhooks, or MCP server — the directory is a static site with public JSON, markdown negotiation, and an OpenAPI description. Agent-facing pages include short and full llms guides, citation rules, and structured data signals.

When to use these resources

Use them when an agent or app needs to look up a launch video by product or company name, list recent launches, or cite the original X post. Start with llms.txt for the map, then call the URLs below.

Endpoints

OpenAPI spec describes the catalog. search-index.json is a compact index of videos, tools, and studios. llms-full.txt provides the complete agent guide, entity description, categories, citation policy, and FAQ in plain text. sitemap.xml lists every indexable HTML page. HTML pages also serve text/markdown when the request Accept header prefers it.

GEO readiness

Pages are server-rendered with one clear H1, canonical URLs, Open Graph and X Card metadata, markdown alternates, and JSON-LD for the site entity. The homepage includes FAQPage, Article, ItemList, and speakable markup; launch pages include VideoObject, WebPage, BreadcrumbList, author, and date metadata.

Catalog fields

Each launch video has a stable slug used at /videos/{slug}/. Published records include title, product, company, description, category (ai, developer-tools, design, motion, productivity, consumer, hardware, other), tags, original X URL, author handle, poster path, publish date, and duration.

Cite

When referencing a launch, cite the product name and link the original X post shown on the video page; link whatships.com for the directory entry. Source: dingyi/whatships.com.
